My favourite author is Alexander Pushkin, often called the father of Russian literature. He was born in Moscow in 1799. Before becoming a professional writer, Pushkin served in the government office in St. Petersburg. He is famous for many works, but his most iconic character is Eugene Onegin from the novel in verse with the same name. Onegin is a wealthy, bored aristocrat who lives a shallow life, ignoring the genuine feelings of others. Pushkin's writing remains brilliant, and he is a true legend of Russian culture that everyone should read.
