### Exercise 3. Speaking (Make decisions) #### Итоговый ответ (образец диалога) **Student A (Customer):** Hello! Could I have some information, please? My parents are planning a holiday by the sea, and we are looking for reasonably priced hotels near the beach. What kind of hotel resorts are in the area? **Student B (Travel Agent):** Hello! We have two great options: the *Grand Palace Hotel* and the *Seaside Resort*. Both are reasonably priced. **Student A:** Are there any sports facilities? My parents want to relax by the swimming pool, but my brother and I would like to do water sports. **Student B:** The *Seaside Resort* has a large outdoor pool, and it is right next to the beach, where you can do windsurfing, scuba diving, and water skiing. The *Grand Palace Hotel* only has an indoor pool and no water sports centre. **Student A:** That sounds great! How far is the *Seaside Resort* from the town? **Student B:** It’s just ten minutes on foot from the local town. **Student A:** Are there any good restaurants nearby? My parents really like fresh seafood in the evenings. **Student B:** Yes, there is a famous seafood restaurant right next to the resort, offering a wide range of fresh fish dishes. **Student A:** Thank you very much for your help. The weather was hot and sunny, so my brother Max and I decided to rent a small sailing boat while our parents relaxed by the beach. At first, everything was wonderful. The sea was calm, and we enjoyed the fresh breeze. However, after an hour, the sky grew dark, and strong winds began to blow. Our boat drifted further into the open sea, and the engine suddenly stopped working. We started to panic as the waves became higher and higher. Just when we lost all hope, a dolphin suddenly leaped out of the water near our boat. It seemed to guide us toward the shore. We followed its direction and rowed as hard as we could. Ten minutes later, a rescue boat sent by our parents appeared on the horizon and towed us back to safety. We were totally exhausted but enormously relieved. That evening, we celebrated our adventure at a local fish restaurant. It was truly an unforgettable holiday that I will remember forever. *(182 words)* --- ### Объяснение и разбор заданий 1. **Exercise 5 (Словообразование):** * **1) GOVERN $\rightarrow$ government** (существительное с суффиксом *-ment* — «правительство»). * **2) PROVINCE $\rightarrow$ provincial** (прилагательное с суффиксом *-ial* — «провинциальный»). * **3) EDUCATE $\rightarrow$ educational** (прилагательное с суффиксом *-tional* перед существительным *systems* — «образовательные»). * **4) REWARD $\rightarrow$ rewarding** (прилагательное с суффиксом *-ing* после глагола *be* — «приносящий удовлетворение, стоящий»). * **5) VARY $\rightarrow$ various** (прилагательное с суффиксом *-ous* перед существительным *government agencies* — «различные»). 2. **Exercise 6 (Написание рассказа):** * Рассказ выстроен в хронологическом порядке с использованием времени *Past Simple* (*went, decided, stopped, appeared*) и *Past Continuous* (*winds began to blow, was calm*). * Использованы связующие слова (*At first, However, Just when, That evening*) для логичности текста, объем строго соответствует норме (150–200 слов).
