Разница между *say* и *tell* (Упражнение 9) * **Say (said):** используется, когда адресат речи не указан (*He said that...*) либо когда перед адресатом стоит предлог **to** (*James said **to me**...*). * **Tell (told):** требует после себя прямое дополнение — лицо, которому говорят, **без предлога to** (*tell **you**, tell **me**, tell **the police***). * **Устойчивые выражения:** *tell a secret* (раскрыть секрет), *tell lies* (говорить неправду), *tell the truth* (говорить правду). #### 2. Перевод прямой речи в косвенную (Упражнение 10) При согласовании времён (Backshift): * Present Simple $\rightarrow$ Past Simple (*don't use $\rightarrow$ didn't use*); * Present Perfect $\rightarrow$ Past Perfect (*has stolen $\rightarrow$ had stolen*); * Future Simple (*will*) $\rightarrow$ Future-in-the-Past (*would*); * Повелительное наклонение для просьб и команд передаётся через инфинитив с частицей *to* (*"Watch out..." $\rightarrow$ told us to watch out*); * Указатели времени и местоимения меняются по смыслу (*tomorrow $\rightarrow$ the next day / the following day*, *my $\rightarrow$ his/her*). #### 3.
