It was built between 1837 and 1849 by the architect Konstantin Thon by order of Emperor Nicholas I. In the past, it was the principal Moscow residence of the Russian Tsars and emperors. From the outside, the palace looks magnificent with its traditional Russian-Byzantine style, white-and-yellow facade, and decorative carved window frames. Inside, it is extremely grand and luxurious. It contains more than 700 rooms, including five breathtaking ceremonial halls named after the state orders of the Russian Empire (St. George Hall, St. Andrew Hall, St. Alexander Hall, St. Vladimir Hall, and St. Catherine Hall). Today, the palace is the official ceremonial residence of the President of the Russian Federation. It is used for state receptions, official award ceremonies, and presidential inaugurations. **Пропуск 2 (C):** Упоминается узнаваемость фасада (*the front of the building*). 4. **Пропуск 4 (G):** Конструкция с уступкой *even though Number 10 looks like an ordinary terraced house from the outside* требует контраста — фраза **G** (*inside it is an extremely grand place*) показывает противоположность внешнего вида и внутреннего интерьера. 5. **Пропуск 5 (B):** После перечисления картин на лестнице фраза **B** добавляет второе место (*and in the Cabinet Room*), после чего в тексте сразу идет пояснение про стол в этой комнате (*The table in this room...*). 6. **Пропуск 6 (D):** Придаточное места **D** (*where he works and reads*) грамматически и по смыслу относится к личному кабинету премьер-министра (*study*).
