8. Translate the situations into English
> The Paralympic Games are becoming more and more popular. Thousands of athletes who have refused to give up and are ready to challenge fate take part in them. Their positive attitude towards life inspires many people. People who have become disabled for various reasons understand that their lives can be interesting and useful. Life itself is an absolute miracle. Many Paralympic athletes went through terrible ordeals before they realized this.
>
> Aleksey Ashapatov was already a famous athlete when he lost a leg in an accident in 2002. He continued doing sports and won several competitions, first in volleyball, then in the discus throw.
>
> Olesya Vladykina, who won the swimming competition at the Beijing Paralympics, conquered herself. A year before the Games, a tour bus she was traveling in overturned in Thailand. Olesya survived the crash, but lost an arm and suffered a severe back injury. Many would have become depressed after such a tragedy, but Olesya amazed everyone with her courage. She did not waste time feeling sorry for herself, but began training hard. Strangely enough, the disability awakened hidden strength in her. And here is the result — Paralympic gold! Olesya believes that only extreme moments allow you to use your full potential. Her motto is: "Never give up!"
>
> We should write more about such people and do everything possible so that they do not feel disabled, even when using a wheelchair.

* **1) Someone / Somebody** —
* **2) anything** — предложение уже содержит отрицание (*had never tried*), поэтому используется производное от *any* (*never tried anything* = никогда не пробовал ничего).
Question Tags)
* Основное правило: если главная часть утвердительная, хвостик отрицательный, и наоборот. В хвостике повторяется вспомогательный, модальный глагол или глагол *to be*.
* **1:** *He is* $\rightarrow$ отрицательный хвостик: *isn't he?*
* **2:** Повелительное наклонение (*Hand me...*) образует вопрос с помощью *will you?*
* **3:** *You've watered* (Present Perfect) $\rightarrow$ *haven't you?*
* **4:** *There aren't* $\rightarrow$ *are there?*
* **5:** *He called* (Past Simple) $\rightarrow$ *didn't he?*
* **6:** *You can* $\rightarrow$ *can't you?*
* **7:** Побудительная конструкция *Let's* всегда образует хвостик *shall we?*
* **8:** *The train hasn't come* $\rightarrow$ *has it?*
1. **not to leave**: в косвенной речи запрет или приказ передаются через конструкцию *told somebody + not + to-infinitive*.
2. **doesn’t it**: сказуемое *starts* стоит в Present Simple, подлежащее *the performance* (it) $\rightarrow$ *doesn't it*.
3. **to be**: после глагола *promise* используется инфинитив с частицей *to* (*promised to do something*).
6. **would perform**: соблюдается правило согласования времен (главное предложение в Past Simple: *told* $\rightarrow$ *will* переходит в *would*).
